About Breeder
Our Program
At Marys Mini Dachshunds, we keep our breeding program small so that we can dedicate all of the time and attention necessary to raising well socialized, loving puppies that will be a blessing to your family.
We started breeding in 2014 because we wanted to be able to provide families with amazing puppies that will bring them as much joy as our furry family members have brought us.
We do everything we possibly can to ensure that our puppies get the best possible start during those crucial first weeks.
-
Because we are responsible breeders, our puppy parents undergo genetic health testing through PAWPRINTS and vet certifications according to breed specifications to ensure that their offspring will not be affected by any genetic conditions. We offer lifetime support for our puppy families. It is our mission to produce happy, healthy pets that will be beloved family members for many years.

Our Program
Behavior and socialisation
Our puppies are raised within a household filled with other animals, regular visitors and the noises of daily life. Our puppies are handled each day from birth and once old enough, have access to an enriched outdoor space to play and investigate.
Health
All of our parents have full DNA screening with PAWPRINTS and care is taken to only breed with dogs of sound temperament. Our puppies are vaccinated, wormed fortnightly, microchipped and receive a thorough vet check before leaving for their new homes.
Home environment
Our puppies start their lives in a cosy whelping box inside with mum. Once they are old enough, they have access to a large outdoor space during the day filled with toys, sticks and a lovely puppy play gym to explore the world around them. This is when we start the process of toilet and crate training. Puppies are raised in my home, with love, time and attention from the very beginning. I have strong beliefs in raising well-socialised and friendly puppies that leave my care ready to become beloved members of their forever families.

PRA GENETIC TEST
Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) in dogs is a type of genetic eye disease causing deterioration of the retina and eventually, blindness. There are a variety of sub-types of PRA, which can occur in various breeds. There are various DNA tests available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
